A cofferdam was placed to build the famous Thomassentunnel underneed the Calandchannel. The material in the cofferdam needed to be removed. A big challenge in removing the material was the low height of the cofferdam and the depth of the tunnel. A remote controlled cutter suction dredge was designed with an air draft of 0.80 meter. Because of the dredging location and the size of the dredger the CSD was remote controlled.
