Irrigation channels are made with thin concrete walls. The difficulty of maintaining the channels is to not damage the thin walls. A Canal cleaner was developed which can dredge the channels without putting pressure on the concrete. The dredger automatically controls the pressure it exerts on the canal wall. Even channels completely full of sand can easily be dredged empty with the Canal cleaner.
